Four years ago, after too much sangria and a game of “What would you do with your life if you could…” a little coffeehouse called Koka was opened in a developing neighborhood along Eastern Avenue (now called Riverside Drive) in Cincinnati’s East End neighborhood.

The little shop was a beacon of hope in an urban area in need of a shot in the arm – and did really well. The owners decided to open a larger, full-service version and Koka Coffee Lounge opened in Mt. Adams in 2007 where it continues to thrive and act as a gathering spot for residents, employees of local businesses, and tourists alike.

Sadly the decline of the housing market halted new development near the East End location. Road construction re-routed the little shop’s regular customers and business declined. The difficult decision was made to close that location and consolidate our efforts to the Mt. Adams location.

Koka Coffee Lounge in Mt. Adams continues to provide the best coffee, espresso drinks, teas, coolers, and smoothies in the area. Our food menu includes delicious sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups and paninis made fresh to order. We offer breakfast sandwiches, locally-made pastries and bagels as well as grab-and-go convenience foods.

We can cater your corporate breakfast meetings or your personal social brunch. Large lunch order? No problem! Just call ahead and we’ll get it ready for you.

Koka is community-minded too. We are happy to participate in local events like the “Girls On The Run WonderGirl 5K”, the Mt Adams Egg Nog Jog, The Red Bull SoapBox Derby (coming in Oct 2008), and the SPCA Reindog Parade.

We contribute to charitable organizations like Stepping Stones, The United Way, and Coffee Kids.

Koka Coffee Lounge is your neighborhood, independent shop.

Local. Friendly. Yummy.
